Ideas for a Boy's Pirate Bedroom or Nursery

Ahoy Matey! Are you searching for a unique theme for a boy's bedroom or nursery? Have you considered pirates? Little boys are always looking for a bit of adventure, so a pirate themed room will certainly stir his imagination.

 Pirate Bedding for Boys

We love this unique and adorable look created by designer Sweet Jojo Designs. Sometimes great ideas for boys rooms are hard to come by, but this style is such a fun idea. This bedding and accessories capture the spirit of adventure on the high seas in a way that is fun and not scary.

Here are some great ideas for your pirate room:
  • Hang a ship wheel on the wall. Here is a fun and inexpensive Pirate Ship Captain's Wheel  you can buy on Amazon.

  • Use heavy rope to accent your room. You could write your child's name on the wall with rope. If you want the real thing, check out Rope Warehouse where you can buy real nautical rope! Be careful if you use rope in a baby or toddlers room. Put it high and out of reach so your child does not have a chance to be tangled up in the rope.

  • If you want to go all out, make a pirate ship bed! Check out this Pirate Ship Bed. What boy wouldn't love this?

  • Paint a pirate treasure map on the wall.

  • Store toys in a Pirate Treasure Chest.
We hope these ideas will get you sailing on to the pirate room of your little guys dreams. Have you created an amazing pirate themed room for your guy? Head on over to our Facebook page and share your photos with us. We may even feature your room on our blog!

Ideas for decorating in pink and turquoise:

Choose your bedding first. It is a good idea to select your bedding before you do the rest of your decorating. Once you have your bedding in hand it will be much easier to select your paint colors and other accessories for your room.

Have fun with your walls. Here are a couple of ideas from our bedding designers to get you started.

We love the painted tree and flowers in this look by Caden Lane. Not up to painting a tree on your wall? Try one of these fabulous tree decals on Etsy, add some flowers and bling and you're done. How cute!

Pump it up with painted polka dots. How cute are these two looks? Make sure you get a stencil to help you accomplish this feat! Here are some Polka Dot Stencils from Hobby Lobby to help you out, or you could make your own stencil. The plastic from a package of bacon  is perfect for creating your own stencils!

Now that you have your bedding and fabulous walls, it's time to accessorize. You may opt for accessories that are made to match your bedding, or for a one of a kind look choose accessories on your own. Accessories you may want to consider are baby blankets, window treatments, storage items, changing pad covers and wall hangings. We also love the idea of incorporating special items from your childhood. Did your mom save a special blanket or toy from when you were a baby? Find a way to incorporate these items into your nursery decor.

Be sure to check out our selection of pink and turquoise baby bedding and share your nursery with us. We'd love to see pictures of your beautiful room!
